The End Closing Party

The End Closing Party

Saturday 24/01/2009

Main Room, Lounge and AKA: Laurent Garnier, Layo & Bushwacka! Mr C, Erol Alkan, Ben Watt, Jimpster, Will Saul, Rory Phillips, Don Mac, Frankie Valentine

The End Closing  entry information:

We'd like to announce the ticket details for The End's closing party  - we have deliberated for a while over how best to run the night. Tickets for many of our closing events so far have turned up on eBay, being sold for hundreds of pounds - which we didn't feel was fair to those of you unable to buy them. So for the last night, we have decided that the fairest option is to operate on a first-come, first-served basis. There will be no advance tickets available for this party, all of the places will be available on the door.

The door price will be £40 and the venue will open from 8pm. We appreciate there may be lengthy queuing times on the night, so we've worked out a way to make the wait as fun as possible. We have obtained a licence to close West Central Street to traffic, and will be covering the queues with an awning, there will be a silent disco, and we will be providing drinks and other entertainment. You may have to wait, but it'll be the best wait ever.

The party will be going on well into Sunday afternoon, so if you wish to stagger your entry time until later, you will still have plenty of time to enjoy the closing night. The ticket price includes entry to the afterparty - so you can stay as long as you want.

The End Closing Party - Afterparty Update

The End Closing party opens at 8pm. Please plan your night - we envisage that not many people will be leaving the club between 11pm - 4am, so fewer people will be able to enter the venue between these times.  It's hard to exactly predict, but from 4am the queue should be moving again.

From 6am, we will be charging a reduced price of £20, for entry into the whole venue and afterparty. The party will be in full swing at this time, with the main room open. The headliners from The End will all be playing at the afterparty in AKA, and the DJs will continue well into Sunday afternoon. So please consider staggering your entry; you will still have plenty of time to enjoy the closing night. We want to let everyone have an opportunity to join the party and say goodbye.

Internet Rumours

Contrary to some comments and any other speculation regarding The End & AKA reopening we would like to confirm that The End & AKA will cease to exist after the final party on the 24th.

The new owners, due to the recession may at some point use the building temporarily as a bar and/or entertainment venue in the future, but that is as far we know at this stage. The team behind The End and AKA will not be involved whatsoever.

Mattyc Fri, 16/01/2009 - 11:54

ACID HOUSE, which club are you talking about exactly??

amie Fri, 16/01/2009 - 11:43

Its a new NIGHT not a new club and is gonna run on about 4 occasions next year as long as I know. Will everyone stop being so CYNICAL and appreciate what we have.

snix: depends what your into, but i think the best alternative that night is matter: £7 to get in there, then £20 from 6 a then end.. Mind you, saying that im still going to be in the queue from 8pm!

ACID HOUSE Thu, 15/01/2009 - 20:46

Lets have it right then. The new club is in central London. As is The End. The new club will be in a warehouse. The End is in a basement. The new club will have the same resident DJ's - Layo & Laurent. It will have the same manager - Liam. I assume then that the doorstaff and bar staff will simply move if they want to. As will the office staff. The tickets for the new club will be sold on - same as The End tickets. So why get ripped off to the tune of £40 and queue for hours to MAYBE get in. What exactly are we saying goodbye to? Looks dodgy here ........
