About AKA and The End

The End was one of London’s first purpose built electronic music venues and is a much loved London institution today. A basement club with low, arched ceilings and a sound system that makes us the perfect venue for gigs, showcases and events where an edgy, futuristic space is required.

AKA is the sister bar to The End nightclub, and London's first dj bar. AKA was the first dj bar to offer excellent bar service and a specialist drink selection including an impressive range of champagnes, rare rums and bourbons, alongside up to the minute events programme. Today these events include everything from comedy nights, art exhibitions and club nights, to burlesque and cabaret parties, big band and jive nights. A venue designed for the digital age, AKA is wi fi enabled throughout, has a large screen and cinema quality moving projector.

AKA & The End are extremely versatile venues and can be used separately or together, in a variety of ways. The capacity of both venues is 1200, yet we can cater for dinner, parties, live music or other events for smaller groups of any size. We have a 24 hour drinks and entertainment license, so can cater for your party whenever it is, day or night, early, late or very late.

Our experienced and enthusiastic team can provide a dry hire service, or produce and manage all aspects of your event from food to entertainment to theming.

AKA & The End are extremely versatile venues and can be used separately or together, in a variety of ways. The capacity of both venues is 1000, yet we can cater for dinner, cinema screenings, parties, live music or other events for smaller groups of any size.

We will do our best to accommodate you with any special request you may have, be it regarding food or drinks, or any equipment, sound, lighting, visual or décor requests. Please note, that we can arrange equipment, visual and décor hire for you at a preferential rate should you require it.

Food and Drink

Our chef Danny is not only an artist but a real foodie! Choose from our
mouthwatering canapés menu, hot buffet or carvery, or ask our chef to
create a menu for you.

Our mixologist team, some of whom have been with us since AKA’s glass
doors first swung open, are also experts in their field. Some of our in
house cocktail creations are now recognised classics. Our back bar
offers one of the best spirit selections in London. We also boast a
superbly crafted wine list and extensive champagne list.

Champagne reception, cocktails created in the company colours; you name it, we’ll do it.

Equipment Hire
We can arrange equipment hire for you at a preferential rate which will include delivery and collection to and from the venues. Please note that for safety reasons we do require that any equipment brought into the venues must be accompanied by a P.A.T. test certificate. If you have any queries please don't hesitate to ask.

Venue Dressing
We kindly ask that any branding / dressing requests are agreed with the Events Manager prior to the event. For safety reasons, dressing materials brought into the venues must be Fire Certificated Class A & O spread of flame. We do require written confirmation of this before the event please.
In order to preserve the venues we also kindly ask that nothing is hung or taped on the walls.
We are more than happy for play lists and posters to be placed around the venue on the night; please ask the duty manager for direction with this.

Staging
In total The End & AKA has three 8x8x1 ft risers, and three 4x4x2 ft podiums available for your use. If you have any specific staging requests please just ask in advance and we will do our best to help you out.

Sound & Light Engineers
We have professional in-house sound and light engineers who will be happy to work with you to meet your specific requirements. We kindly ask that any sound check times are arranged with the events manager in advance.

Door Staff
If you require, we are happy to arrange experienced and friendly door staff, cashiers and hosts for you. Of course you can provide your own staff if you prefer; the events manager will be able to assist you with any queries.

Security
We employ a licensed professional security company with both male and female security staff. CCTV cameras operate around the venues. For your own safety, searching is a condition of entry for any event which has a door charge.

Parking

There is an NCP car park is located on Museum Street which is directly opposite the venues. There is no official parking on West Central Street; equipment can usually be dropped off quickly outside the venue but unfortunately this is not normally possible during evening trading hours. If you have a specific request please just let us know.

Load In
We are open to take deliveries from 1200 on weekdays and from 1800 on weekends. Deliveries can be taken via the entrance on Museum Street, the fire exits on West Central Street, or via AKA's main doors on West Central Street.

Load Out
We kindly ask that all production is de-rigged and taken off the premises after the event. If the following day is a weekday, collection should be after 1100 and after 1800 on weekends. We are happy to accommodate you if you require a later pick up date, just let us know in advance.

Disabled Access
AKA offers disabled access and a disabled toilet. Disabled guests can access The End via AKA, however please note that there is a staircase which has 35 steps in total. By prior arrangement staff can be made available to help any disabled guests to move around the venues; we just ask that they are accompanied by at least one other guest.

Hire Fee
Contact the events manager with your detailed requirements and we will send you a quote & payment details.

VAT
17.5% will be included on all the service fees quoted. Food and beverage items are inclusive of VAT.

We want your event at AKA & The End to run as smoothly and successfully as possible, so please don't hesitate to ask at any point if you have any specific requirements or queries and we will do our best to help and accommodate you.
