Club Night Profile
Underwater , Darren Emerson 's bi-monthly residency at The End, is one of the biggest nights around. Underwater head honcho Darren Emerson brings himself, a big bag of records, and a gang of label mates and guests to shake up The End every other month with the finest underground house sounds around. The night regularly showcases new and live acts, and works as a platform for launching the best talent coming through Darren's label.
Underwater at The End is the only club in London that you can see Darren spin records, which accounts for much of the night's phenomenal success. Darren is pretty direct about the night's popularity; "We do these Underwater parties. We do them bi-monthly and it's one of the best parties going in the UK at the moment". Darren's single-minded vision for the music policy is clear; "I always play music that I like. I don't want to play music that I don't like, otherwise you wouldn't feel it. I'm very open. I like different styles of music." From the hip hop, soul, electro and early house that got Darren into DJing, to the storming house and techno sounds he has masterminded throughout his career, everything gets a look-in at Underwater .
Underwater 's line ups are as varied as they are exciting. This year alone guests have ranged from the likes of Jon Carter and Majik Johnson to Serge Santiago and even Norman Jay. With Underwater you can always be sure of three things - a great line up, a packed crowd and one hell of a night!
