Record Stores
London has some of the best record shopping around. Places like Blackmarket, Vinyl Junkie's, Honest Jon's, Music & Video Exchange, and loads of other little shops keep all of the kids dancing. Ahhh, the joy of the hunt.
Shoes (Zapatas, Chaussures, Schuhe, Pattini, Sapatas, etc.)
Again, there are a lot of places to get hot kicks in the capital city. Staples like Offspring, Foot Patrol, Fly, Size? and My Trainers instantly come to mind but there are also a few special, secret places that I like to frequent which shall remain nameless.
Clothes
I really like shopping for clothes in London. Mainly because you guys get lots of things we don't get in Chicago and I get to rock specials back home that no one has. Selfridges is always a good bet. With hundreds of little boutiques under one roof, it provides a nice one-stop for most needs. I also like to pick up semi-ironic / semi-humorous t-shirts in Camden on the weekends. You can get some really cool things at the market.
Camden Markets
Speaking of...I love to go to the markets on the weekend. The locks, the stables, and the markets together provide a nice alternative hangout. You can hear 10 different languages buzzing around, pick up almost any kind of food (personally, I have a bit of a thing for Nando's) and check out anything from watches, to records, to modern furniture, to vintage toys, to antiques of all manner. Always a good bet.
Bookstores
I like to read although I don't do it nearly as much as I should considering the number of good books available for consumption. There a quite a few neat spots that I like to check out when I come to town. Since my interests vary right across the board, it's good to have a selection of places to check out if I'm looking for a particular title or subject.
