Chris SU - Secret Budapest
Chris talks us through one of Europe's most beautiful and historic cities
Deep Music Depo
Address: 1062. Budapest,Aradi u. 22.
Website: http://www.deep.hu
No doubt Deep Music is the best record shop of the city with all the latest promos and releases in various genres including drum'n'bass, breaks, house, techno, dubstep or easy listening. They are also exclusive distributors of numerous big labels n Hungary such as Hospital or Metalheadz.
Subvibe
Address: Budapest V. ker. Irányi u. 5.
Website: http://www.myspace.com/subvibe
Earlier it used to be a record and clothes shop, nowadays they only sell clothes, but they have a very good selections. You can find all the big brands in street clothing, Stüssy, G-Unit, Zoo York, Paul Frank, to name a few. The shop is in the heart of Budapest, near the famous shopping street Vaci Utca.
Studio / Events Hall
Address: Budapest, Hajógyári Sziget
Website: http://www.szigeteventshall.hu/
This club takes place on the Hajogyari Sziget, the same island where every year the Sziget Festival (http://www.sziget.hu) takes place. Its posh interior and high-end sound gives you the perfect conditions for big parties or mega raves. For example Pendulum + MC Verse had 4000 people in November 2006. Must see.
Citadella / Gellert-Hegy (Gellért hill)
Address: Budapest, District XI. and I. , on the right side of the river Danube.
Website: http://www.citadella.hu/
If you want to have look at the astonishing view of Budapest, this place is definitely must go. There is also a club on the top of the hill, it has been the location for various legendary events in the past, including the open-air Fields Of Joy festival.
Henri Belgian Pub
Address: H-1011 Budapest, Bem rakpart 12.
Website: http://www.travelport.hu/vendeglatas/EVendeg.vd?ml=11&mi=1&xcnl330&prf=2...
Probably my favourite pub / restaurant of the city. If you like Belgian beer, this is your place to be. They have 30 types of belgian beer from the bottle, and 7 from tap. The kitchen is French, they got the best seafood in the whole city (imported from Norway as Hungary doesn't have a seaside). Hoegaarden forever!
