DJ Marky - Secret Sao Paulo

We asked him about his favourite places in this buzzing city

Galeria 24 de Maio

I like to go shopping in the Galeria 24 de Maio as there are a lot record and clothes shops there. The actual place is amazing. It is a very old building in downtown Sao Paulo with around 400 shops in it. In Sao Paulo there are a few shop galleries of this kind with tons of record shops; I¹d say the Galeria 24 de Maio and the Galeria Ouro Fino are the best. They both house a lot of shops, and are a meeting point for people who are into electronic music. I actually used to work at the 24 De Maio Gallery in a record shop a long time ago. It was cool. All the good DJs from here used to work or shop there.

Qualifruit, R. Elvira Ferraz St, 155

Qualifruit is a kind of veggie restaurant found at the R. Elvira Ferraz St, 155. They serve veggie food and a few fish dishes as well. Really good and light. There's a kind of a fruit shop inside the place too where you can actually purchase vegetables. Also the natural juices they sell are awesome.

Tati Snooker, Santo Amaro Avenue, 1308, Vila Nova Conceio

This is Brazil's biggest snooker hall; it's a professional kind of place where people who are really serious about the game gather to play. On Saturdays they have a D&B and house night, where all my friends play records. We have a good time and I totally recommend it! Also I just can't help myself, even if I try to avoid playing there, every time I go I always end up playing snooker with my buddies!

MASP, Paulista Avenue

MASP is a really good place in Sao Paulo with regular exhibitions from famous artists ranging from paintings and drawings to sculpture. Also On Sundays they hold an open fair, where they sell antique toys. MASP is also very interesting architecturally and houses some of the biggest structures ever built.

Paulista Avenue

Paulista Avenue is Sao Paulo's most known postcard! It's a huge avenue full of office buildings, stores, radio tower antennas, and movie theatres. It offers fantastic views and visuals. Also on Paulista Avenue is the radio building from which my show is broadcasted weekly. The building offers some of the coolest views of Sao Paulo...!
