The Hall - Secret Istanbul
We get tips on one of the world's most vibrant cities, from the events manager of one of its finest clubs.
The Hall - www.thehallistanbul.com - is one of Istanbul’s top nightclubs, with a sumptious interior and guest DJs including Francois K, Norman Jay and our very own Layo & Bushwacka!. Saruhan Batur, the Events Manager from the club, shares his tips on where to eat and drink in the city.
360 Restaurant
Istiklal Caddesi / Misir Apt. K:8 N:311 Beyoglu Istanbul
www.360istanbul.com
360 is probably the best restaurant in Istanbul. The place has a 360 degree Bosphorus view. Sometimes you can find some live shows as well as local DJs playing mostly house. The menu ranges from Japanese to Turkish, and the cocktails are first class. At around 11pm, the restaurant area turns into club. It’s a great place to see two sides of Istanbul from one roof.
Changa Restaurant
Siraselviler Cad No:47 Taksim Istanbul
www.changa-istanbul.com
One of the greatest menus and interior designs you will find in Istanbul - it is pricy but very delicious. As far as I know the chef is an American, and he also owns the restaurant.
Baykus Cafe-Bar
Istiklal Caddesi Bekar Sokak No: 22 Beyoglu
Just go there and have an apple juice vodka. It’s a very small place and the music is mostly 80s but you can have a great time after a couple of apple juice vodkas!
Kat
Sogancı Sokak No: 7 Kat 5 Cihangir İstanbul
www.5kat.com
A favourite place of foreigners living in Istanbul. The menu is good enough, prices aren’t very high at all, and the cocktails are great. It has a very good Bosphorus view. A very good place to have couple of drinks before you go to party.
Haci Abdullah
Aga Camii, Atif Yılmaz Cad. (Eski Sakizagaci Cad.) No: 9/A 80070 Beyoglu / İstanbul
www.haciabdullah.com.tr
The best restaurant for traditional Turkish cuisine - prices are very reasonable. The place is often visited by tourist groups though, so might be busy, and be warned, they don’t serve alcohol!
Doner restaurants in Taksim
When you are entering Istiklal Street you will see dozens of doner (sliced lamb meat) restaurants – always a good choice to grab a snack when you are a bit drunk!
