Joel Mull - Secret Stockholm
One of Sweden's top house and techno artists, Joel Mull, fills us in on their capital's best bits.
Grill
Drottninggatan 89, 113 60 Stockholm
www.grill.se
If you are into barbecued food, this is the place. All food in this kitchen gets grilled. Fantastic atmosphere. I would recommend the tuna tepanyaki. They also serve some of the best cocktails in town.
Restaurant 1900
Sommerstängt mellan den 5/7 – 6/8, Stockholm
www.r1900.se
This is the place if you want to sample the Swedish cuisine. This restaurant serves classic Swedish food with a modern touch. Nice little bar and has a DJ booth. Disco and cocktails on Saturdays!
ESQUE
Regeringsgatan 61, Stockholm
www.esque.se
Our pride and joy: the first real dance club in Stockholm. It has a booming Function One sound system. This is where I have held my monthly residency in Stockholm since September last year. Check it out. Open till 4am.
Fade Records
Skånegatan 78, Sofo, 11637, Stockholm
Buying vinyl is a nice habit. If you are looking for the latest dance music releases, Micke at Fade Records will help you out. Located in the Area SOFO on the island Södermalm, there are many other small boutiques and shops in the area for you shopaholics.
Modern Museum of Art
Located on Skeppsholmen, an island in central Stockholm.
www.modernamuseet.se
Contemporary and modern art from all kind of artists. I like to go here if I am in need of inspiration.
Parks – Djurgården and Haga Parken
These two are the biggest parks in Stockholm. They are easy to access and are lovely to just walk around in; a total nature trip. I also recommend taking any of the fairies going out to the Stockholm Archipelago, departing from the Grand Hotel.
I hope you enjoy Stockholm. I recommend you go in the summer, especially around midsummer, 20th of June. Otherwise, if you’re into snow and the dark, cold season go in February.
