Layo's Secret London
Layo delves into the things that make his hometown a special place to be.
Markets
Markets have a long, historic tradition and a distinctly British feel. Be it Portobello, Borough or Spitalfields, they're all full of character. Some of my earlier memories include working on my uncle's hamburger stall in Hampstead Market (yes it used to have one 25 years ago) and selling second-hand 501s in Camden market as a teenager.
Parliament Hill
One of my favourite places to go with my girlfriend on a summer's night; it has a great view and is super-romantic.
ICA / Everyman Cinemas
I really like the atmosphere and films shown at repeat film screenings in some of London's more alternative cinema venues, especially the ICA and the Everyman - whether it's seeing a classic film or a foreign film, this is an essential part of the London I love.
City of London
From the historic buildings in the square mile to the unbelievable scale of new developments such as Docklands, London feels so alive when you go into the actual City of London.
Being a tourist
Be a tourist in London and get a hotel for the night, even if you live here already; it's quite strange but lots of fun.
