AKA 10th Birthday Showcase 29/09/2008
AKA celebrated a decade in the business on 31st July 2008 with three of the acts who played the opening night 10 years ago: Basement Jaxx, Gilles Peterson and Fabio, plus The Shapeshifters, Luke Solomon and Bugged Out's Johnno playing a Guilty Pleasures set. The theme for the night was 'The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe', so AKA was decked out with snow covered fir trees, a snow machine and even a giant Aslan lion! Despite it being a school night no one wanted to go home, and the cheers were still resonating round The End's lounge at 6am, when Tomoki Tamura brought the lights up with Laurent Garnier's 'The Man with The Red Face'.
