Benicassim 2007
Matt Cheetham heads off to Spain to report back

Benicassim has evolved into one of Europe's highest profile music festivals, with thousands of Brits making the annual journey to Spain.

Lots of outside space to sit down on dry ground - What every festival should have!

Simian Mobile Disco rocking it, definitely one of the highlights of the festival.

Three things every good rave should have, lasers, fluro decor and hands in the air!

If you think these guys look messy you should have seen what they were all looking at!

Crosstown Rebels' Damian Lazarus deep in concentration.

Animal Collective were one of the first bands of the last day (at 6 in the evening) with their catchy brand of psy-pop.

Main stage action from Black Rebel Motorcycle Club.

London lads the Filthy Dukes transformed the Pop Verde stage from an empty tent filled with wishy washy pop to a heaving rave pit that spilled outside.

Dawn outside the tent grooving to Kompakt's Tobias Thomas.

It was that time in the morning when everyone was getting emotional.

Even the VIPs got involved!

As the sun came up (which it did with a vengeance - we're in Spain) the mountains gave a stunning backdrop to the festival.

The long long road-then-rail-then-plane home - the worst part of the festival. Imagine being up all night then being faced with a 8-10 hour journey back to blighty!

Rich, You should add the EXIT Festival in Serbia to your list of insane must-do events. 8pm till 8am, 4 nights in a row, watching sunrise on the hills of a fortress, followed by a 6 hr beach party from noon daily. You'd be lucky to sleep!
