Yousef - Secret Liverpool
Circus' promoter gives us the five must-dos when in England's famous city
Crosby Beach
It’s at the end of my road and it’s the beginning of the longest stretch of coastline in the UK. It is now very clean and houses an art installation by world famous artist Anthony Gormly, he also made angel of the north in Newcastle. This time he produced 'another place' which is 100 full size bronze statues on hi-body scattered evenly over a 2 mile distance. It is amazing and is here for good.
Liverpool Cathedral
This was only completed in 1978, though it was started by King Edward VII laying the first stone in 1904. The at the time unknown architect George Gilbert Scott (eventually Sir) sited it as his masterpiece. It is the highest point in Liverpool and looks out over the whole city; beautiful inside, outside and on the roof. Highly recommended.
Hope Street
It is the old quarter of Liverpool, amazing Edwardian buildings, houses and streets. It boasts some fine restaurants (60. Hope Street), the Hope Street Hotel, which is one of the best I’ve seen anywhere in the world, plus it has the Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra building on the corner; home to one of the finest and most celebrated of all orchestra's anywhere in the world.
Anfield - Liverpool Football Club
Even if you are not a football fan, I'm not the biggest myself, you should go to a match there. It can be the most overwhelming experience. There is nothing like seeing Anfield erupt upon scoring a vital goal!
Circus
There is no doubt that even on average, my night, Circus is one of the most rewarding places to play anywhere. We've worked hard to get a balance of great music, great (if not outrageous) line up's each month coupled with an educated and safe crowd. It’s a lot of fun… as the tag line goes; entertainment and enlightenment!
