DJ Profile
Bryan Gee has been one of the most influential figures in the drum & bass scene from day one in his many guises as DJ, promoter, label owner and A&R man par excellence. The careers of Roni Size, Krust, DJ Die, Artificial Intelligence, Dillinja, Ed Rush & Optical, DJ Marky and DJ Patife amongst many others all owe a debt of gratitude to the V Recordings boss. Always keen to support developing talent and never afraid to take a risk, it was Bryan that unearthed the burgeoning drum & bass scene in Brazil and brought it to an initially sceptical UK audience. That risk paid off though, as Marky & Patife were made residents at his award winning club night Movement. Started in 1997, Movement's legendary weekly Thursday night sessions at Bar Rumba became one of the most important events in drum & bass, eventually branching out to bigger events at venues such as Cargo, Fabric, arenas at Homelands and Skolbeats, and many a huge night at some club called The End. As a DJ, Bryan continues to play the biggest events round the world, renowned as the dubplate champion with exclusive access to tunes long before anyone else, whilst his active labels V Recordings, Liquid V and Chronic continue to push some of the most innovative drum & bass around.
