A new store in town, dealing young, fresh designer clothes from all over Europe. My connection to this place – the shop is run by really close friends of mine.

An Italian kind of bistro-restaurant in the south part of town. A small place with only one big table in the middle of the room surrounded by 3-4 bar stools and tables. Traditional simple Italian style place where the cook knows how to do a real spaghetti carbonara!
Record Shops
Nice records from all different styles of fresh and old, new and second-hand can be found at Parallel-Schallplatten, Aachenerstrasse. For more funk/soul and hip hop music try Groove Attack Records, Maastrichterstrasse.
Musikwirtschaft Stadt Venlo
It’s an old traditional Cologne bar, the whole arrangement is still like it is since the place was opened in the 60s or 70s. A few years ago some of my friends took over the place and only refreshed the drink-menu. Right now it’s the best place to watch soccer games, listen to some fine tunes later on or just to hang out and get wasted.
Clubs
Too sad, but no venue or club I can recommend - Cologne is a dead city at the moment! The only place worth mentioning is called “Odonien”, a venue a little bit outside of the town. A bit like an atelier for metal sculptures who can be found all over the place, a bit spooky at night, but worth seeing and a good place to party if you like it a bit hippie style.
