As well as being one of the nicest people you could wish to meet, Rap lives, breathes and sleeps music. He started off DJing hip hop in the late eighties before the energy of the original US house sound that was sweeping across London at the time caught him up – and it’s been house music in his soul ever since. Rap can most often be found behind the decks at BM records (formerly Blackmarket), one of London’s most influential record stores. Labels he’s currently digging are the sadly ended Classic, and newer labels like Cajual, Basic Channel, YellowOrange, Under My Skin, Yoruba and King Street. Rap joined the Soulmates crew in 2004, his love for soulful sounds and a back–in–the–day party atmosphere making him the perfect addition to the crew.
