Portsmouth born DJ and producer Ben Medcalf hung out with a very musical bunch of mates when he was growing up – forming a band with Martin Dawson (now King Roc) and Chris Jarmen (now Raiden, a former protégé of Renegade Hardware). After moving to London in 2000 Ben began working as a sound engineer, both on solo productions and collaborations with Tom Real. A couple of his early tracks were signed to alternative house offshoot Beautiful Records, and since then his tracks have been played by the likes of Stanton Warriors and Rennie Pilgrim, and his debut album ‘Rogue Rock’ received fantastic reviews from the music press. He has recently ventured into electro as well as breaks productions, and rocks Chew The Fat! every time he plays here.

hey Ben great to see you again... and at one of my favourite London clubs ;) - you made the night (Chew the Fat), it was all a tad fragmented until you hit the decks... and Kid Blue wasn't too shabby either. Hope the gig in France went well. Carey xxx
