Closing competition winners
We pick our favourite out of all of your entries.
We ran a competition through December and January, asking for photos or
original writing around the topic 'What does The End mean to you?' We
had hundreds of great entries, and have had a lot of fun (and some
moving movments) looking through them all. But there could only be two
winners, and they are below...
Katrina Sluis
turn off new oxford
lights blast the end across bricks
humans snake around
glowing with lager
a vocal cacophony
this queue is alive
decloaked and relieved
logistics long forgotten
anticipation
descending the stairs
nervousness and the unknown
intoxicating
regrouping inside
congratulating ourselves
the first round appears
retreat to the floor
a seductive maze of faces
bust it big time now
bass throbs across bodies
lights and colour punctuate
darkness sweat and steam
feeling elated
this floor under this city
suddenly my world
drawn to the DJ
uncontrollable smiling
we dance side by side
like moths to a flame
beacon of cooling water
I pause to reflect
refill my bottle
a glimpse of the other side
become a voyeur
adventures entice
an ascent to AKA
random chats abound
bopping as I sit
exhaustion and elation
have we met before?
pushing back the crowd
we defy the final tune
dance on in the light
escape into air
one hundred cabbies greet us
surreal sunrise
back seat gossiping
reconstruct the night once more
denying the end
Zoe Savitz

We were sent lots of shots from the dancefloor, but this one made everyone smile, and got us in the mood for Saturday's afterparty...
