Armand Van Helden
Hip hopper turned houser Armand Van Helden is as famous for his misdeeds (clearing the dancefloor at Space, making dodgy hip hop albums) as he is for his crowning achievements (impeccable remixes of Tori Amos and CJ Bolland). Refreshingly, he is the first to hold his hands up to his mistakes, and likewise deserves serious recognition for the contribution he has made to the both dance charts and the Top 40. Recently Armand has left the pop charts behind and gone back to what he does best – releasing house music with booty trembling basslines on labels such as Southern Fried, crafting a highly acclaimed album ‘Ghettoblaster’, and winning over a whole new generation of fans to his sound.
