DJ Profile
Bailey has been on and around the drum & bass scene since the days of acid house, but it wasn’t until the mid 90s that he begun to make a name for himself as a DJ. His pirate radio show on Energy FM captured the attention of Kemistry & Storm, and he found himself playing at one of the first legendary Metalheadz Blue Note sessions. After securing his residency there, his career began to snowball, and soon he had added a residency at Fabio’s Swerve night. When the BBC launched 1Xtra, Radio 1’s sister station, Bailey presented one of three drum & bass shows, and is the only surviving member of the original line up. In 2004 he launched his own label, Intasound, a home for cutting edge, deep beats with releases in its catalogue from the likes of Miracle, Equinox and Survival. He has been behind some of the great mix albums of the last few years, including ‘Drum & Bass Headhunterz’ for Metalheadz which included one of his own tracks ‘African Descent’. Bailey remains a Swerve resident, and can regularly be found spinning records here at The End on a Wednesday night.
