Charles Webster has performed and recorded under many guises in his time – among them Presence, DJ Profile, Love From San Francisco, Lo:Rise and Furry Phreaks (under which he recorded the epic ‘Sooth’). He began as a studio engineer at Nottingham’s Square Dance Studios, before moving to San Francisco in 1993, where he really started to make a name for himself. Moving back to the UK in 1996 he started up his Remote label and released his ‘All Systems Gone’ album which won him 5 gold stars from almost every reviewer. He’s worked with artists such as Terra Deva, Shara Nelson, UFO and Herbert, and these days and continues to produce and his soul-infused version of electronic music around the world.
