The unlikely lovechild of a hip hop and drum & bass loving DJ (Gilb’r) and a pioneer of the French deep techno-disco sound (I:cube), like all mismatches, the result is something a little bit special. The Chateau Flight project was born in 1997 with a totally open agenda and a wide range of influences. Together they run the Versatile imprint, and recent projects include the Body Language 5 mix for Get Physical and creating the soundtrack to a silent movie ‘Les Vampires’. Part of the wave of European producers pushing a deep, complex, trippy, melodic sound and helping shape the current musical landscape, their sound is both haunting and uplifting – two truly original talents.
