Biography

Chris Duckenfield began DJing in the late 80's - thankfully getting sidetracked from being a teacher having decided that "teaching was for elderly men with beards and an unusual passion for corduroy". Chris and his early DJ partner, Richard Benson, had a pirate radio show under the names Asterix and Space - with Chris's voice from the radio actually getting sampled by Altern-8 saying, "watch your bass bins I'm tellin ya." Alongside spinning, he started producing and also working at the legendary WARP record store, where he met Richard Brown - his production partner in SWAG. On top of all his DJing and production commitments, he has run two labels in his time - Primative, and now Odori, has a monthly radio show, and has even written a book or two! His productions are characterized by satisfyingly squelchy basslines - booty shaking house music of the highest order.
