DJ Profile
Cut Copy
Cut Copy began in 2001 as a solo project of Melbourne DJ, producer and graphic designer Dan Whitford, but after a couple of years he decided to recruit some fellow members and form a fully-fledged live band. Their debut album ‘Bright Like Neon Love’, a shimmering collection of fuzzy synth-pop-rock that draws on diverse influences from Fleetwood Mac to French house, has become a cult all-back-to-mine classic – and a second album is on the way. Their success has far outgrown their home town, and they have toured extensively from the UK to Texas, headlined festivals and stepped into remixing – waving the magic Cut Copy space-disco wand over artists such as The Midnight Juggernauts and VHS Or Beta. Another excellent live guest at the seminal Monday night party Trash.
