I was introduced to the underground scene by school friends with flyers, records & tapes from early raves. I starting to buy vinyl in 94 but it wasnt until the following year I sourced some decks (2 record players from 2 seperate hifis!) which done me until I bought my 1210's. Labels such as Labello Blanco, Back2Basics, Moving Shadow, Renegade Hardware, Renegade, TOV, Dread, Flex, Formation, Good Looking, Hard Leaders, Metalheadz, Reinforced, Ram, V Recordings, all paved the way for my new found love of Jungle. Within a couple of years I began playing out in my home town Royston, in Hertfordshire & also starting a small night with friends at a community centre, playing House, Drum & Bass and Hardcore. After moving to Oxford in 1999 I got involved with Feelthebass.co.uk running an internet radio show with the founder of the website on a regular basis for over a year. By this time I was also spinning house and trance, and had landed sets at The Phoenix in Manchester, The Glasshouse in Leeds, and Wellos and Templars bar in Nottingham. I'd lost the feeling a little for D&B during 1999, something wasn't clicking. However I soon decided to focus on my main love of D&B the following , as tunes were getting alot better. In 2002 I helped co promote Compound, a monthly night we ran for seven months. We decided that we wanted a bigger and better venue, and have put it on hold until the time is right. (Its also allowed us to concentrate on our own djing careers.) Since then, I have been playing out in Copenhagen, London, Swansea, Bristol, Banbury, Leicester and Oxford playing anything from Old Skool, liquid to techy dark and hard D&B' 2005 saw me landing residencies at Oxford longest running Drum&Bass night, Source, and In Motion in Banbury. This year I have began a residency for a new night called UPLOAD in Bristol, and also BREAKFREEKZ in Oxford. Since March 2007 i've been with the new webradio site www.darkwaxradio.com whom also will be running monthly nights @ 3rd Base, Brixton. Recently I have added to my residencies and joined REPUBLICA in Oxford. These days I like to mix across the board of D&B styles, mainly concentrating on the Techy/Dark and Liquid side of D&B, not forgetting the oldskool jungle of course. You can catch my show 'The Dark Vaults' on Wednesday 10pm - 11pm (GMT) on www.darkwaxradio.com, also on my weekly show 'The Compound Show' on Mondays from 8pm -10pm (GMT) on www.leetradio.com which I DJ on with DJs from 'The Compound Collective' Recently i've become Co- Promoter and resident DJ of a new night called SUBSHOCK, which is a monthly night on a sunday. This night caters for all Drum & Bass of all genres, with some Hip Hop, Breaks, Old Skool, Garage, House thrown in to warm up the nights. This night has been started up by Chris Edwards (DJ Ceedee) the head Honcho of www.feelthebass.co.uk a Drum & Bass Forum catering for the local D&B scene, aswell as the world wide scene. Recently i've played a debut set for Intrigue in Bristol, as well as my Debut for Renegade Hardware at the special link up event with Valve. Plenty more in store for the new year
