DJ Profile
Danny Rampling will be forever immortalised in dance music history for his trip to Ibiza with Paul Oakenfold and Nicky Holloway, where he discovered some phenomenon called house music and returned to the UK inspired to spread the word. He went on to launch Shoom at a gym in South London in 1987 – one the seminal nights in dance music’s history. From here followed more club nights, remixed of artists from The B-52’s to the James Taylor Quartet, DJ gigs around the world, and the weekly Love Groove Dance Party show on Radio 1. Although he famously hung up his headphones at the end of 2005, he can occasionally be tempted back behind the decks for a good cause or an extra special party.
