DJ Profile
Chicago native Derrick Carter first started making music over twenty years ago, with his debut single 'Love Me Right' getting a release in 1987 during the first wave of Chicago House. When the scene went through its second phase of popularity during the mid 90s, Derrick was right at the forefront, releasing predominantly through Organica often under the moniker Sound Patrol, and as his live act Sound Patrol Orchestra. His popularity in the US and Europe was growing and in 1995 he launched his own label Classic, with London based Luke Solomon. Based on an ethos of high quality control, Classic set out to release only 100 12" singles, with their catalogue numbers counting down from 100. It was with Classic that he will be best remembered at The End, as he and Luke Solomon held a residency with us at their Classic night for four years. Derrick remains one of the world's most respected underground house DJs and his events at the club are etched in End legend.
