It’s not often that Laurent Garnier enjoys the luxury of taking over a main room crowd from a virtual unknown and have them primed to perfection.  This is an art Don Mac has mastered over the years, regularly playing a set to warm up the masses on behalf of such luminaries as Jeff Mills, Sven Vath, DJ Sneak, Josh Wink, Layo & Bushwacka! and of course the mercurial Garnier.  Having relished the role for years he’s gradually established himself as a regular fixture for Mr C’s Superfreq sessions at The End.  His skills as a DJ are beyond question, with the rubber stamp approval from Mr C, yet it’s his studio skills that have made him such an exciting prospect over the last year, with his first 12” ‘Ariba’ appearing on Superfreq, plus a track on the ‘Superfreq Express’ album mixed by Mr C following shortly after.  With a live show in development and more of his studio work pricking the ears of some of the best cutting edge house labels, it won’t be long before those support slots become headlines.
