Having spent over a decade crafting sublime intelligent dance music as Deep Dish, Ali ‘Dubfire’ Shirazinia and Sharam Tayebi are currently concentrating on solo projects. As a duo, the pair produced melodic masterpieces such as ‘Stay Gold’, but as a solo artist Dubfire has moved towards a harder, darker and altogether more underground sound. Far from suffering from the fate that often befalls artists going solo and slipping into obscurity, Dubfire has stormed onto the stage, being dubbed the “new Prince of Darkness” by DJ Mag. Tracks like ‘Roadkill’, ‘RibCage’ and ‘I Feel Speed’ have been received with rave reviews by the music press and with whoops and cheers on the dancefloor. Deep Dish have promised that they will be producing together again in a couple of years, but in the mean time Dubfire is certainly proving himself worthy of his new crown. Check out our Dubfire interview below.
