DJ Profile
Freq Nasty is undoubtedly one of the most popular figures in breaks. A real showman and a master of the 1210s, his unique bass driven sound and knack for producing the unexpected has made him a DJ and producer with a massively broad fan base. Starting his career at breakbeat pioneers Botchit & Scarper, upon becoming synonymous with the nu-skool breaks sound, he begun flirting with the type of robotic disco usually associated with the likes of Daft Punk. It was always breaks-laden, however, and the rib-rattling low-end frequencies he’s so fond of have become his calling card. A move to Brighton’s legendary Skint Records in 2000 helped his profile grow even further. His most recent mix album, for Breakspoll in 2006, reaffirmed his position in the scene. Currently living between the UK and the US and working hard in the studio, there’s always anticipation as to what the Freq’s gonna come with next!
