French based Canadian Jason Beck is a multi-talented MC, electro artist and pianist. In the 1990s he was the front-man for alternative rock band Son, releasing two albums with the band before relocating to Europe and deciding to fly solo. His sound combines lounge, hip-hop and electro-funk, and his debut album as Gonzales was released on German label Kitty-Yo. Both Gonzales and fellow Canadian Peaches weren’t getting the love they deserved in their native country, but relocation to Europe soon saw them both achieving great success. The pair have worked together many times, performing in each other’s live shows and collaborating on releases. Gonzales has continues to build on his success of the last few years, and in 2007 one of his tracks was even used for a BBC promo for a TV show The Restaurant. Vive les Canadians en Europe!
