DJ Profile
Joey Negro (or Dave Lee to his mum) began producing in 1988, after founding his first label, the now extinct Republic Records. He is well known as one of the roots of the British house and garage scene, and has released under a plethora of other monikers including Jakatta, Sessomato, Mistura, the Hed Boys, Doug Willis, Raven Maize, The Sunburst Band, Z Factor, Hed Boys, and (phew!) Doug Willis.
His recent 'Many Faces Of Joey Negro' album is a good point for Joey Negro beginners to navigate their way around his multiple production personalities - plus it includes the bonus of some killer remixes from the likes of Basement Jaxx, Martin Solveig and Masters At Work.
Currently, Joey Negro continues to release house music under a variety of names, as well as running his label Z Records - and as a resident at MN2S he takes time from his busy production schedule to rock their Friday night party here on a regular basis.
