San Francisco’s Dirtybird label has been one of the shining lights of the house scene over the last few years.  At the hub of the operation, working alongside Claude ‘The Whistler’ Von Stroke is Justin Martin.  Since his gorgeous debut 12” ‘The Sad Piano’ in 2003, Justin has released the vast majority of his material on Dirtybird and Ben Watt’s Buzzin’ Fly, a mighty impressive pair of labels to be calling home.  His tunes blend melodic and tough sounds, a technique that has resulted in a wealth of acclaim and some stunning 12”s including ‘Cicada’, ‘The Fugitive’ and ‘Nightowl’.  With a full debut artist LP in the works for Buzzin’ Fly, he’s a bona fide member of the camp, and can often be found spinning deep, driving, delectable house at The End’s Buzzin’ Fly nights.
