Merka is one of the most exciting new talent in breaks. Having been brought up in the countryside, it was the sounds of drum & bass that initially caught Merka's ear. A relocation to London inspired him to make music and before long he was the hottest young thing on the scene. His first release came in 2003 on Future Funk Squad's Re:connect Records, which alerted the Fat! crew to his talents, and he was promptly snapped up by Paul Arnold. After a handful of heavy duty slabs of 12" plastic, Fat! unleashed Merka's debut album 'Beserka' onto the breaks world, which is, put simply, incredible. Inevitably, he's now DJing left right and centre, including regular slots at Chew The Fat! at The End, whilst we eagerly wait what's to come from this very talented chap.
