Midfield General aka Damian Harris was responsible for setting up one of the defining record labels of the last decade - Skint - which has released tracks from the likes of Fat Boy Slim, X Press 2 and Dave Clarke. His alter ego is the Midfield General, and he got his first DJing break playing the warm up set at Brighton’s Zap club. His career in record labels began as tea boy and general dogsbody for Loaded. Within two years, he had started Skint as an off- shoot label to release anything that wasn’t house based, and the label’s first release was ‘Santa Cruz’ by Fatboy Slim. Soon Damian and Norman Cook started up the Big Beat Boutique, which became a huge success, capturing the imaginations of thousands of clubbers around the UK who wanted something different from four to the floor house music. One of the key protagonists of the big beat musical revolution!
