Miss Kittin aka Caroline Herve first got into DJing after arguing with her DJ boyfriend over his mixing technique – when he told her to see if she could to it better herself – she tried, and did. It wasn’t long before she bagged herself a pair of decks and started playing out. After hooking up with The Hacker in Paris and playing him some of her early work, he was impressed – and they hooked up to record ‘Frank Sinatra’. From then on her star just continued to rise. As well as her production skills, it’s Miss Kitten’s breathy vocals that really make her tracks stand out – whether on collaborations with fellow feline Felix da Housecat and Goldenboy, or on her solo productions. A Miss Kitten DJ set is all about variety – from dark techno to bubblegum electro, you never know quite what to expect – she’ll even occasionally throw vocals in over the top. No surprise then, that she is a firm favourite of acid house party makers Bugged Out!
