Nicky Blackmarket is one of drum & bass' most faithful servants.  In fact, cut him and he'd most like bleed drum & bass.  His early experience of DJing was as a teenager playing electro in the 80s, however, after discovering dance music he got involved with a Soho record shop, Blackmarket Records, and as the scene began to split, he set up the basement to cater specifically for the hardcore and breakbeat sounds.  This basement became the epicentre of the drum & bass scene, with Nicky at the helm.  His legendary partnership with Stevie Hyper D in the mid 90s made his name synonymous with the genre, whilst his label Kartoonz was responsible for some all time anthems, not least the unforgettable '2 Degrees'.  Nicky has always been a DJ first and foremost, and whilst he continues to tour the world and work behind the counter at Blackmarket Records he remains a key figure in the scene, and the most approachable big name DJ on the planet!
