New York four piece Radio 4 formed in 1999 and quickly established themselves as a band capable of marrying scratchy guitar riffs with danceable grooves. After their 2000 debut album ‘The New Song and Dance’ confirmed them as one of NY’s forerunning rock & roll bands, they took a new direction with their sophomore album in 2001. Entitled ‘Gotham!’, they worked with the highly esteemed production outfit D.F.A, fusing rock with electronica. The resulting album was a brilliant mix of guitars, keyboards, hand claps and danceable beats that secured their position as one of the leading bands of the dance-rock scene. Their third album ‘Stealing of a Nation’ re-affirmed their status and further spread their popularity, and then in 2006 they released their fourth and most recent effort, ‘Enemies Like This’. The album showcased a new, streamlined sound that stays true to their roots but has seen them emerge from the scene as very much an independent entity. It’s for their live shows that they are most popular though, and it was here at The End that they rocked our live stage at Trash back in 2004 – check out the video!
