French purveyors of happy go lucky songs with jangly guitars and uplifting melodies, Phoenix make the kind of tunes that make Monday feel like Friday – and we all need a band like this in our lives. They were formed in the early nineties, and actually started life as the backing band for a remix of Air’s ‘Kelly Watch the Stars’. They released their debut album in 2000, and their best known track ‘Too Young’ was used in two completely contrasting movies - ‘Lost in Translation’ and ‘Shallow Hal’!
