DJ Profile
Roni Size is a musical pioneer. Hailing from Bristol, his early releases on the infantile V Recordings in the early 90s, such as 'It's a Jazz Thing', were pivotal in the development of the early sound. In the mid 90s he launched Full Cycle Records alongside Krust, Suv and DJ Die, the team of producers that alongside Roni would go on to form the legendary Reprazent. Full Cycle quickly became one of the dominant forces in the scene, however it was with Reprazent's album 'Newforms' that Roni made his most crucial contribution to drum & bass; taking the sound to a worldwide mainstream audience in winning the Mercury Music Prize that year, beating the likes of Radiohead, The Prodigy and Suede in the process. Since that landmark album he's released two more artist albums, 'In The Mode' with Reprazent in 2000, and a solo LP 'Return to V' in 2005. Meanwhile, his contribution to the underground with a non-stop stream of killer releases has maintained his position in the scene.
