Scissor Sisters are Jake Shears, Ana Matronic, Babydaddy, Del Marquis and Paddy Boom. They formed in New York in 2001. From a little-known act, widely ignored in their home country, they’ve ended up as a pop phenomenon, with their eponymous debut album going ten times platinum. They’ve been playing to sell out crowds across the world ever since, culminating with a prime time slot at Live 8 and a headlining stadium tour in Europe. But back in the day, before V Festival and Graham Norton and Saturday Night Live, Erol Alkan invited them to play at Trash – their electric performance giving the crowd a taste of what was to come for the band.
