DJ Profile
Fiercely underground, yet commercially successful - whilst Stamina is undeniably talented, he remains an enigmatic character. He built his reputation on his combined talents as an MC capable of competing with the rapid-fire lyricists that dominated the scene and as an accomplished singer. His Movement residency during the night’s glory years in the late 90s and early 00s helped him forge a partnership with DJ Marky who was just taking off in the UK at that time. In 2002, Stamina was thrust into the limelight with his vocal version of DJ Marky & XRS’ ‘LK’ which hit the top 20 and led to an appearance on Top of the Pops, in 2003 he hit the charts again after adding his vocals to D.Kay & Epsilon’s ‘Barcelona’, but rather than capitalise on his successes Stamina remained deeply loyal to the drum & bass scene. Stamina began working with the London Elektricity live band, touring with them for some time as their host and lead vocalist, whilst his long-standing DJ/MC partnership with Marky has remained in place to this day. He can be found at The End for the majority of DJ Marky & Friends nights, lacing sets with sweet vocals, harmonies and quick-fire chats.
