DJ Profile
Switch, real name Dave Taylor, began building a reputation for his production skills on London’s house music circuit, with records like Solid Groove’s ‘Flookin’, and Switch’s ‘Get Ya Dub On’ catching the attention of MAW, Gilles Peterson and Rainer Truby. His 2006 single ‘A Bit Patchy’ catapulted him into the attention of the wider dance music community. In recent years he’s become lauded as one of the key producers-du-jour at the moment - working on MIA’s debut ‘Arular’, her follow up album ‘Kala’, Santogold’s ‘Creator’ and Diplo’s new album, collaborating with fellow DJ/producer Sinden, and remixing for anyone from P Diddy and Robbie Williams to Spank Rock and Buraka Som Sistema. Switch’s love of both house and hip hop is apparent in his work, and his use of technology creates a futuristic mash up sound with innovative effects, twisted vocals and sonic beats.
