Terry Francis got his big break when he won the Muzik magazine ‘Best New DJ’ award in 1997, although he had actually been on the scene DJing, promoting and working in record shops for 10 years already. His first few gigs were at a rockers pub in his home town of Leatherhead, and suffice to say that after a couple of weeks complaining about the music, by the third week the rockers were all getting down to some house music! He later moved on to set up the legendary Wiggle night along with Nathan Coles. His style is deep dubby house and techno, mixed together seamlessly and intelligently – demonstrated perfectly on his ‘Architecture’ mix albums. His has released several quality house and techno cuts on labels such as Swag and Eukahouse, and with a Fabric residency and a hectic international touring schedule, looks like Terry will be on the dance music radar for a long while to come.
