London based band The Kills consist of American vocalist Alison Mosshart, and British guitarist Jamie Hince.  Signed to one of the most celebrated independent labels in contemporary British music, Domino, in 2002, they quickly released their sparse and minimalist debut ‘The Black Rooster EP’.  Their sound and line up has often found them compared to The White Stripes, although in terms of their anti-careerist and anti-music industry attitude, it’s difficult to draw parallels between the two acts.  Their first full album ‘Keep On Your Mean Side’, was released through Rough Trade Records and found much favour in the music press.  Their raw and uncompromising music gained further attention via the band’s provocative and powerful live shows.  Their second album ‘No Wow’, on Domino, was even more stripped back than their debut and affirmed their position as a truly exciting band, capable of some seriously gritty and passionate music.  With work on their third album under way, you can get a taste of The Kills here on our website - get a load of them rocking Trash back in 2005!
