DJ Profile
DJ, producer, or synth-popstar pinup boy? Whether he is producing wonderfully camp cover versions (of Nelly's 'Hot in Here'), crafting utterly filthy electro or creating carnage on the dancefloor, Tiga is a force to be reckoned with. His debut album 'Sexor' released in 2006, jumps from sleazy 80's influenced pop to wobbly acid-tinged techno. Originally from Montreal, he moved to India and got lost in a decadent club scene before returning, inspired, to his native city and vowing to invigorate the scene in Montreal. Alongside DJing, producing and promoting, he set up his own record shop - DNA Records - and label - Turbo Recordings. Constantly in demand for his remixes, he describes his secret as "take the best bits, throw out the rest...add some breathing and grunts" - but we're sure there must be more to it than that! Some of the artists he has Tiga-fied include the Scissor Sisters, Tomas Anderson, Felix da Housecat and Fischerspooner. He launched 'Sexor' at Bugged Out in February 2006, treating the crowd to an early set in the lounge playing the tracks that influenced the album, followed by a peak time set in The End's main room.
