Three random facts about Timo Maas: he used to be a telecommunications engineer, he lives on a farm, and Timo Maas is his real name.

Another not so random fact: he utterly kicks the ass out of every dancefloor he plays with his high-energy, banging yet uplifting sound. Always the last man standing, Timo builds the crowd up into a frenzy with his sets of blistering electro-techno-house.

Timo's DJ career began at age 13, when he started spinning at parties. Whilst his contemporaries were busy snogging each other, Timo was busy learning to beat match and rock a dancefloor, even if it was only someone's front room!

Several years later, after building up his reputation as a DJ at The Tunnel in Hamburg, Timo first jumped into the UK consciousness in 1999 with his remix of Azzido da Bass 'Dooms Night'. The record forged a path for a whole new sound, the 'hard and wet' house and techno that became Timo's defining style.

After the chart success of Dooms Night, Timo went on to release the relentless Der Schieber on Perfecto, and Umik - another Top 40 success story. He has remixed Madonna, Placebo, Kelis and Fatboy Slim, to name but a few, always firing up the track with his trademark energy.

As well as these high profile remixes and a shed-load of original productions under his belt, Timo has also notched up a Grammy nomination, two artist albums, several mix albums and compilations, and runs his own 99% record label.

Timo often says he approaches every gig and every production as if it were his last - which perhaps explains his enduring success and popularity as both DJ, producer and remixer. Despite his not inconsiderable talents, he reuses to take himself seriously and maintains a cheeky sense of humour even at the end of an epic seven hour set.
