Troy Pierce grew up in the quiet farm town of Muncie in Indiana, a few hours drive from the growing musical hubs of Chicago and Detroit. The musical innovation happening in these two cities got under his skin, and when Troy moved to New York in 1994 to study photography he got into DJing. In 2001 he hooked up with Magda and Mark Houle, and although the 3 were all living in different countries, they began sharing ideas and working together over the internet. Troy moved to Berlin in 2003 and became a fully fledged member of the Minus family. His DJing and production style takes the best of the minimal underground and makes it more accessible for the dancefloor – demonstrated at the rapturous reception he received when he played at The End alongside Richie Hawtin for his Minus party in September 07.
