White Rose Movement
White Rose Movement was originally formed by four friends who grew up together in a Norfolk hippie commune. The finishing touch was added to the band right here at The End at the legendary Trash. Bass player Owen Dyke scoured the crowd asking every girl he stumbled across if they played keyboards until he found Erica ‘Taxxi’ MacArthur. They combine their New Romantic-inspired image with a post-punk style and attitude, and truly addictive synth-led melodies. Signed to Independiente in 2004, they went into the studio with Paul Epworth – a man with a faultless record of producing bands such as Bloc Party, Babyshambles and Maximo Park – and recorded their debut album ‘Kick’. Released in 2006, the album established White Rose Movement as a band as exhilarating on record as they are live, and they remain a firm favourite on the circuit – particularly at Durrr, the successor to the throne of their spiritual home, Trash.
