Chase and Status

Drum and Bass

Biography

Chase & Status have enjoyed a spectacular ascent to the A list of drum & bass.  Their career in the scene only stretches back as far as 2004, yet their extensive catalogue reads like a hit parade of the last few years.  Kicking things off on Renegade Hardware, their debut release was a remix of a Future Cut classic, ‘20/20’ which heralded a flurry of quality releases on labels such as BC Presents as well as more on Hardware.  However, it was their 2005 anthem ‘Love’s Theme’ on Bingo which really took them to the next level, showcasing their versatility in the studio and earning massive support from across the scene.  Breakbeat Kaos was the next label to enjoy a Chase & Status anthem, in the shape of the dubbed out killer ‘Duppy Man’, which was followed in 2006 by their unforgettable collaboration with Jenna G, ‘In Love’ which won them a 1Xtra award for Best Single.  Their remix work has also been highly celebrated over the last few years with classic re-workings littering their CV.  Memorable examples include Mood II Swing’s ‘I Got Love’ and Shy FX’s ‘Everyday’ featuring Top Cat, whilst 2007 saw them remix Plan B’s ‘No Good’, Brockie & Ed Solo’s classic ‘Represents’ and Dizzee Rascal’s ‘Sirens’.  They’ve now signed exclusively with Andy C’s legendary Ram Records.  Now firmly established with one of the scene’s powerhouse labels, they’re currently working on their debut album, a highly anticipated project which will confirm their status as one of the hottest talents in drum & bass.
