Damian Lazarus has held many different roles in the music industry before setting up Crosstown Rebels and making his name as a DJ/producer extraordinaire. He started off as a music journalist, bagging the position of Assistant Editor at Dazed and Confused, before working freelance for a while, then taking up a job in A&R at London Records, later setting up City Rockers with a colleague. His latest label – Crosstown Rebels – is widely recognised as one of the most innovative electro-techno labels around, releasing tracks by artists such as Kiki & Silversurfer, Phonique, Jennifer Cardini and many more. He describes his own sound as twisted, raw, deep, underground, futuristic techno, house and electro - a true pioneer of the underground.
